Jo Daviess County’s natural topography offers many opportunities for water enthusiasts. From quiet, secluded streams harboring glistening trout to the lure of the mighty Mississippi River, aquatic recreation in the area is vibrant. Public boat ramps are located on the Mississippi at Blanding’s Landing, Ferry Landing and the East Dubuque bridge; the new Galena River boating landing, south of the vehicle bridge in Galena, accommodates small watercraft. To rent a canoe or kayak, contact a local outfitter.
